Major Conventions Shaping Las Vegas as a Global Hub
Gambling apart, conventions are the single biggest reason Las Vegas hotels are doing soaring business. Las Vegas competes with many major cities like Orlando, Chicago and Anaheim for conventions and yet emerges as a winner year on year. Every year around 22000 conventions are hosted by Las Vegas. 60 out of the top 250 shows happen here and there are many more such startling numbers to its credit. Let’s look at some big ones:
CES:
Las Vegas hotels get busy as soon as the new year eve is over. The consumer electronics show ( CES ) usually happens around 6th of January and brings around 3600 companies flocking to Vegas. There is 2.4 million sq.ft dedicated to the show and brings in media from far and wide. This global launch platform celebrates many new product launches. Technology companies take full advantage of the timing of this event and bring their summer debutants.
World of Concrete:
February is an important month for Vegas. World of Concrete brings around 18000 companies and 60000+ visitors to the city. While they come to witness and showcase the largest innovations in construction industry, they bring the city under limelight. Usually happens around the 2nd of February and runs until 5th at the LVCC.
Magic:
The largest fashion extravaganza happens in Las Vegas from 20th February. Magic brings the best of men’s, women’s and children’s collection to the city which serves as a launch platform for new summer collections. Mandalay Bay Convention which has 1,000,000 sq ft exhibiting space is opened up for this grand event. Magic comes winds up in a few days but comes back to the city in fall.
NAB:
Come April, the city welcomes broadcasters from around the world who come to Vegas for the largest show of its kind, NAB. More than 100000 visitors come to the Strip for the show. LVCC is booked usually from 24th April to 27th April and see visitors from 159 countries. Nearly 1700 companies send their most important delegates to gather information on latest in content delivery.
JCK Trade Show:
This jewelry industry show happens usually from around 3rd June to 6th June every year at Mandalay Bay. 40000 most important delegates attend the show to review the industry progress and innovations.
G2E:
There is no better fit for Las Vegas than this global gaming expo. The city’s character serves the visitors and delegates right. It happens each year around 27th September and brings in as many as 30000 visitors who come to witness the new gaming introductions. Right from igaming to tribal gaming and surveillance are discussed at the show.
AAPEX:
AAPEX brings in the auto care innovations to Sands Expo, Las Vegas usually in the month of November. More than 2200 manufacturers who represent the $356 billion auto care industry come to showcase their very best products to key decision makers. As many as 44000 buyers flock Sands Expo for the show.
SEMA Show:
It is a leading show for automotive specialty products and brings in the category makers to LVCC. Nearly 60000 buyers come to the show from around the globe. There is no better platform to launch new innovations in the sector. First week of November Nevada is abuzz with SEMA show activities.
